Sharapova is one of the world’s most popular female Tennis athletes. Beautiful, generous and superb on the tennis court. She is an aggressive baseliner, with power, depth, and angles on her forehand and backhand. Additionally, she is one of the few players on the WTA who uses the reverse forehand a lot. She have a powerful volley when approaching the net or attacking lobs. Sharapova is thought to have good speed around the court, especially considering her height.

She was born in western of Siberia On April 19, 1987, and raised in Sochi.  When Sharapova was four years old, she began to develop an interest in tennis  and  at the age of six, when she was at a tennis clinic, famed tennis player Martina Navratilova saw Maria's talent. She was awed by Maria's abilities, and suggested to Sharapova's father that she start training at the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.
Sharapova and her father Yuri moved to Florida when she was 7 so she could train at Nick Bollettieri’s tennis academy. Because of Maria's extreme skill in the game of tennis, IMG, a prestigious sports management and modeling company, agreed to sponsor Sharapova, and provided her with the $35,000 it would cost Sharapova to stay at Bollettieri Academy annually.

In 2001, Sharapova's professional tennis career officially began, when she joined the junior circuit. She won twenty-five matches that year, lost only three, and came away with three titles: Sacramento, Hilton Head and Pilsen in the Czech Republic.  Her success  stories has began.
In 2004, at age 17, she upset then two-time defending champion Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final to claim her first major.
In 2005, she donated around US$50,000 to those affected by the crisis. In April 2005, People named her one of the 50 most beautiful celebrities in the world.

In 2006, Maxim ranked Sharapova the hottest athlete in the world for the fourth consecutive year. She posed in a six-page bikini photoshoot spread in the 2006 Valentine's Day issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, alongside 25 supermodels.  In a poll run by Britain's FHM magazine, she was voted the seventh most eligible bachelorette, based on both "wealth and looks."
Sharapova signed a sponsorship deal in January 2007 with Gatorade and Tropicana. On February 14, 2007, Sharapova was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and donated US$210,000 to UNDP Chernobyl-recovery projects. In this year, Sharapova was featured in a number of Canon USA's commercials for the PowerShot. In June 2007, Forbes magazine listed her as the highest-paid female athlete in the world, with annual earnings of over US $26 million, the majority of which was from endorsements and sponsorships.
In July 2008, as a result of her success both on and off court, she was the world's highest-paid female athlete, earning US $26 million, but in this year she stated at the time that she was planning to travel back to the area after Wimbledon in 2008, though it didn't happen as she had to travel back to the US because of shoulder injury.
In August 2010, she was once again named the world's highest-paid female athlete by Forbes and then Maria Sharapova engaged with her boyfriend, Sasha Vujacic - The Los Angeles Lakers star.
In January 2011, she had renewed her contract with Nike, signing an 8 year deal for $70 million. This is the most lucrative deal ever for a sportswoman, beating the previous record, which was Venus Williams' $43 million deal with Reebok.
